Infinix CF-i technologies

Movability : 5 axis C-arm

In the Infinix CF-i, a newly-developed C-arm with the latest Toshiba technology is employed. This C-arm has five operation axes and complicated and appropriate angulation is possible for all treatments by fully utilizing the five axes.

For the new C-arm, in addition to manual operation at the table side, stored target positions of the arm and the table can be reproduced by one touch operation using the auto-positioning function. With this function, the frequently-used angle setting can be customized per study or physician.
The arm can be rotated quickly, which may improve treatment efficiency in the examination room.

Although the new C-arm is a floor-mounted type, it is possible to retract the arm by electric movement. This is most useful when a patient is replaced.

Accessibility

To fully exploit the capabilities of the Infinix CF-i, any angles essential for the current treatment or study can be reproduced.

In studies for coronary arteries, the system is required to perform steep angulation. Toshiba's new C-arm enables smooth and quick angulation at such steep angles.

 

Additionally, floor base rotation enables arm access from both sides of the patient. When switching the arm position between the left and right sides of the patient, the arm can be moved easily using the auto-positioning function. Even when the operator approaches the patient from the patient trunk side, the required angulation for study and treatment can be supported.

Thanks to the latest Toshiba control technology, "synchronized operation" of floor base rotation and support column rotation can be performed smoothly.

Lateral movement:
A guide wire can be inserted into either of the patient's arms without moving the patient. Since the operating ranges on the left and right sides are the same, approach is possible from both arm sides.

Longitudinal movement:
The entire body from head to toe can be covered by arm movement only. This is strongly effective in interventional procedures for legs.

 

By fully utilizing the floor base rotation mechanism of the new C-arm, medical staff can have more space during studies.

Usability

The tableside console (Hyper-handle) was renewed concurrently with release of the new system. The operability of the tableside console (Hyper-handle), which has a good reputation with many users, was further improved and it fully supports operation of the new arm.

The new Hyper-handle was created based on an ergonomic design concept:
Control systems for operating the beam limiting device and compensation filter and for performing post-processing during a study were newly added.
Also added were control systems for performing all-axis arm operation, up/down movement and floating of the table, SID movement, FOV switching, and auto-positioning. By further analysis of the users' pattern of operation, the layout and designs of the control levers and switches were also reviewed.

The tableside console (Hyper-handle) supports one-hand operation and solo operation of the system during a study or treatment.

(Supplemental information) Floor base rotation and support column rotation can also be performed using the rear panel control switches of the arm.
