The system provides tools such as tantalum beam filters, low-dose fluoro mode and asynchronous
pulsed fluoro frame rates to minimize radiation dose to the patient and the staff.
Soft X-ray cut-off filter
Automatic insertion of a radiation quality regulation filter effectively cuts out the low energy X-ray components that result in exposure. In addition, the high-energy X-ray components that cause scattered radiation are also simultaneously cut out to reduce the radiologist's exposure to scattered radiation and to prevent the image contrast from deteriorating.
Toshiba's unique tantalum filtration dramatically reduces absorbed patient dose and also back scattered radiation to the tableside operator.
Tantalum replicates the performance of copper in terms of dose reduction but provides a superior signal to noise ratio which translates to improved image quality.
The system provides a choice of three different filtrations,0.03mm Tantalum,0.06mm Tantalum,and 1.5mm Aluminum.0nce programmed for a particular examination the filters automatically are placed.The fifure shows the dramatic reduction in soft radiation for 0.03mm of Tantalum vs 1.5mm of Aluminum.
Variable-rate pulse fluoroscopy
Exposure reduction can be achieved by reducing the dose of X-rays generated per second without degrading the image quality. (Select from 30~1 pps)
Variable-dose pulse fluoroscopy
In pulse fluoroscopy, X-rays are generated in the form of pulses, and the amount of X-rays per pulse can be selected according to the purpose. Three levels of fluoroscopic dose mode are available.
No test exposure
X-ray parameters for angiography are set automatically according to the fluoroscopy parameters. A test exposure to set parameters is unnecessary.
Protective board (optional)
The exposure for the radiologist is mostly caused by scattered radiation from the subject. The protective board prevents radiation scattering from the subject and causing exposure. A number of types suitable for different layouts are available.
